Enverus has announced the acquisition of four exchange platforms from PDS Energy Information, a transaction that aims to enhance Enverus’ secure exchange network across critical areas of the energy sector. The deal, which was disclosed on June 30, 2026, includes the Frac Interference Exchange, Well Data Exchange, Production Data Exchange, and AquaTrade. While the financial terms of the acquisition remain undisclosed, the move is expected to significantly bolster Enverus’ operational capabilities in the upstream energy market.
Enverus, a leading provider of AI and data solutions for the energy industry, already operates two of the largest commercial exchange networks in the sector—EnergyLink and OpenInvoice. These platforms collectively serve over 500 operators, 40,000 suppliers, and 250,000 receivers, facilitating more than $500 billion in annual transaction activity. The acquisition of PDS’s platforms will allow Enverus to expand its offerings from commercial workflows into operational data flows, which are essential for completions, well data management, production tracking, and water logistics.
The platforms acquired from PDS Energy Information are integral to the U.S. upstream industry. The Frac Interference Exchange, for instance, is utilized by over 400 operators to coordinate completion schedules and manage frac hit risks, thereby enhancing wellsite safety. The Well Data Exchange automates the secure distribution of drilling and completion files, while the Production Data Exchange allows for the exchange of production volumes, integrating this information into accounting workflows. AquaTrade facilitates the matching of operators with midstream water handlers, promoting efficient management of produced water resources.
This acquisition positions Enverus as a more comprehensive system of exchange within the energy sector, effectively linking operational events in the field with the commercial workflows that govern them. According to Enverus CEO Manuj Nikhanj, the integration of PDS’s platforms is a natural progression that will create new opportunities for customers by combining existing networks with new operational capabilities. The synergy of these platforms is expected to improve the efficiency and safety of energy operations across major U.S. basins.
The broader implications of this transaction reflect a growing trend in the energy sector towards enhanced data integration and operational efficiency. As the industry increasingly relies on data-driven decision-making, the ability to seamlessly exchange critical information will be paramount. Enverus’ strengthened position as a leader in energy data solutions may set a precedent for future consolidations in the sector, as companies seek to leverage technology to optimize their operations and maintain competitive advantages in a rapidly evolving market.
